I’m not here to perform, I’m here to build.
I was told not to post this. I was told to “build a following before asking for support.” I was told to smile more, post more, make TikToks, be “organically formal,” and follow trends.
But here’s the truth: I’m not here to perform. I’m here to build.
I started Slash-32 to merge tech, culture, and conviction.
Not to become an influencer.
Not to dance for algorithms.
Not to cosplay for visibility.I’ve served in uniform. I’ve led networks powering mission-critical systems. I’ve debugged infrastructure, not just code — and now, I’ve created a brand that represents all of that. Slash-32 isn’t entertainment. It’s legacy.
I took a step in a different direction, that’s what I thought, the intentions were right — increase visibility, spread awareness, boost engagement.
But, the more I tried to settle my heart into the method, I realized that that’s not me.
The importance of being oneself is only diminished when overshadowed by achievement — but when done right, the two elevate each other. That’s what makes you, you. And the essence of my worth, my value, cannot be understated. I have to believe in me. Because if I don’t, who would?
I’ve built every piece of Slash-32 by hand. Met some amazing devs, designers, advisors, techies and just all around beautiful people! I’ve poured myself into the brand — the tech, the app, the binary gear, the vision. And in doing so, I realized something:
I actually like blogging.
It’s not just about sharing updates. Blogging lets me unpack the process — the design choices, the tech stack decisions, the late nights. It’s where I get to explain the why behind Slash-32.While most people scroll past captions in under 2 seconds, I find comfort in written words.
And maybe — just maybe — someone else does too.So instead of chasing virality, I’m going to write.
And when I want to, I’ll vlog.
Not for clicks.
Not for dopamine hits.
But because this space — this blog — feels like home.Layer 8 was made for us.
The human layer.
The glitchy, tired, resistant-but-resilient side of tech creators.I launched the site on June 5, 2025, at exactly 12:00 p.m.
Sitting alone in my dark office — curtains drawn, sunlight banished like I was trying to Dracula my way through piercing sunbeams — running on exactly 3.2 hours of sleep. Why? Because I was also preparing to catch a puddle jumper halfway across the world to reunite with my wife and son. What happened next?
The site crashed.
Magnificently. The kind of crash that makes you stare blankly at the screen and mutter:
“If SHTF was a person…” — it was DEFINITELY me that day.
But then — in came the builders.
The devs. The crew I’ve come to rely on.
Like a digital SEAL team, they swooped in and patched, rebooted, resolved — fast. Now the site is fully operational.
And me? I’ve got a magical origin story that perfectly sums up the intersection of being in tech, launching a brand, and troubleshooting your dreams live and unscripted.I’ll be here — building Slash-32 one binary thread at a time.
No filters, no fake hype, no clickbait. Just connection.Bookmark this blog if that’s something you want more of.
And if you’ve ever felt the pressure to perform in a world that just needs you to build — welcome home.
